Overactive Thyroid In Cats Thyroid Medication Costs?

Thyroid Medication Costs? - overactive thyroid in cats

Hello,

My cat was diagnosed with an overactive and need medication for 3 weeks to reconsider before the return. I do not think I have to take (need medication for the rest of his life, I had no insurance for pets) - if we know roughly how much does it cost per month? (Books English please). Thank you!

We have a cat with hyperthyroidism. Yes, sell the drugs need to check to see if the correct dose.

We started with the pills Tapazole (red), but we were too hard on the pill, so he went to the drug is a compound in a cream. This one is called Methamazole. It's the same thing, but the pilling rub a small spot of him in the ear of a cat, and it is absorbed in this way. The price is unchanged at $ 35 a month. This is USD.

Ours was settled for 3 years, and those are the two doses per day. You do not want to go with canned or pause for two weeks (our pet sitter does not care if they were on vacation - what a heart murmur and its level) was 1.0 to 14.5 which has been terribly high.

The possibility of a "cure" is that the radio-iodine treatment, but that is beyond my budget, which costs $ 1300 and works only 80% of the time was. We do ourselves to the treatment on a daily basis. Our 14's, she has years ahead.

This is an operations also the removal of the thyroid, but it is a delicate operation, and it costs almost as much as radio-iodine therapy.

It is a question to ask the really your veterinarian. There are different types of drugs and the prices vary by region, so it probably best to view the details of the individual will receive prescription drugs.
